I maintained a part-time general psychiatric
practice for 30 years, which included psychotherapy, the prescription of medication, and all administrative responsibilities associated
with my practice. This has changed. I currently see only psychotic patients who
might benefit from psychotherapy, but who continue in treatment with another primary psychiatrist or treatment team.
My role is that of a consultant, not a primary care giver. If the patient can use the CBTp approach
effectively, a course of 10-15 forty-five minute sessions will typically show progress. I see patients
in my office at the hospital where I work.
